Adding Value in the OBL

Choosing to add Serranator to our outpatient lab was really a no-brainer once we started seeing the improved outcomes.
When you’re operating in an OBL, the biggest focus is how to add value—value to the patient experience, to the practice, and to referring physicians. Ultimately, the driving force behind a successful lab is patient outcomes.
When patients have better outcomes, they’re happier. When patients are happier, referring physicians are more confident and send more patients. That leads to increased volume and overall growth for the practice.
When it comes to specialty balloons that don’t offer additional reimbursement, the reason we choose to use them is simple: we know they improve patient outcomes. Over time, those improved outcomes translate into stronger referral patterns and increased patient volume, more than offsetting the cost of the device.
Serranator is absolutely one of those devices. It achieves what we’ve been trying to accomplish for years—effective, low-pressure tibial angioplasty without the barotrauma that leads to dissections.
It also improves patency by reducing recoil—goals that both specialty balloons and atherectomy technologies have been aiming to address.
It’s truly worth trying, because the difference compared to other specialty balloons is eye-opening.
